About Us
Ours is an integrated territorial complex operating unit called UOC Rehabilitation belonging to the Department of Assistance and Primary Care.
It deals with both re-education, understood as the functional reintegration of injured limbs or organs, by means of appropriate physiotherapy, and rehabilitation, that is, a more complex process, during which a person with a disability is led to reach the best possible level of autonomy on the physical, functional, social, intellectual and relational level, with the least restriction of his/her operational choices, even within the limits of his/her impairment.
Within the Rehabilitation UOC, the following professional figures operate: Physiatrician, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, Socio-Healthcare Operators (OSS), Administrative.
The Mission
Our Operating Unit is responsible for the management of both Hospital Rehabilitation, aimed at patients in the Hospital of Alatri – Frosinone, Sora and Cassino, and Territorial Rehabilitation, for the care of both adult and minor patients, which concerns the 4 company territorial districts.
It is well known in Rehabilitation that a systematic connection between the different areas of care (acute hospitalization, post-acute hospital rehabilitation, long-term rehabilitation, day-hospital, territorial outpatient rehabilitation) is optimal in order to guarantee a complete care of the person also through the sharing of assessment tools, a greater timeliness of rehabilitation treatment, as well as a greater appropriateness of use of existing resources.
Our activities
Hospital rehabilitation deals with the rapid management of patients admitted to the departments of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Neurovascular Treatment Unit, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Haematology, Surgery, Anaesthesia and Resuscitation, Otorhinolaryngology and Urology; all this takes place through an adequate choice and planning of the rehabilitation path following hospital discharge.
The taking charge provides for the physiatric examination and, subsequently, the evaluation and physiotherapy treatment During the rehabilitation process, the most appropriate rehabilitation setting for the specific clinical case is identified, choosing between Post-acute Rehabilitation, Rehabilitative Long-term Care, Day-hospital, Territorial Outpatient Clinic, Residential, Semi-residential and Outpatient Facilities (as per regional D.C.A no.159 of 13/5/2016).
