The UOC Animal Health is a Complex Structure within the Prevention Department. The Animal Health Area is mainly concerned with:
- of the plans for the rehabilitation of infectious diseases of domestic animals (cattle – buffalo – sheep – goats – pigs – equines – poultry – rabbits). The most important are:
- Brucellosis;
- Leucosis;
- Tuberculosis;
- Equine Infectious Anemia;
- Scrapie;
- Swine vesicular disease;
- Avian Influenza;
- Rabbit Mixomatosim
- the management of the register of income animals and their handling at national and international level;
- the management of the Regional Canine Registry and all the handling of dogs and cats nationally and internationally, dealing with the serious problem of Randagism;
- the provision of Ready Availability shifts for health and non-health emergencies;
- the collaboration with all the Forces of Order and Institutions (Mayors-Regional Parks) for the resolution of countless problems present in the area of competence;
- of the close collaboration with the Animalist Associations for the management of Randagismo.
