The Simple Departmental Operating Unit UOSD AIDS of the ASL of Frosinone, formerly the Third Level Reference Operating Unit established in February 1989, is the technical-operational unit of the S.S.R. (Regional Health Service) which carries out the tasks provided for by Law no. 135 of 5/6/1990.
Activity:
- Regional reference centre for the fight against AIDS, HIV infections and related diseases
- Management of information flows for Epidemiological Surveillance and Control of AIDS cases and HIV infections (SERESMI)
- Care activities aimed at the care of people living with HIV / AIDS
- Taking charge of victims of violence within the company procedure on gender violence
- Collaboration with regional public bodies in the management of the population affected by HIV/AIDS
- Relationships with Voluntary Associations, Social Cooperatives, Migrant Reception Centers, Anti-Violence Centers, Family Homes for HIV-positive people, Therapeutic Communities
At the clinic it is possible to carry out:
- Screening test for HIV and STIs
- Pre and post test counselling
- First infectious disease examination and follow-up
- Direct access to blood samples for laboratory tests for screening and follow-up
- Diagnosis and treatment of comorbidities and co-infections
- Direct delivery of antiretroviral drugs
- Management of Occupational Biohazard Exposure of Health and Non-Health Personnel/ Non-Occupational Exposure
- Offer and management of pharmacological prophylaxis of HIV infection, when indicated, in people recently exposed to the risk of contagion (post-exposure prophylaxis, PEP)
- Telemedicine and teleconsultation
- Social service advice
All the above activities are carried out in close collaboration with the other services and with the other OUs of the Health Authority and with the structures of the territory (for example: vaccination centers, family consultations, multi-ethnic service, RSA Assisted Health Residences).
How to access and further information:
- Access to the clinic is direct and scheduled
- The HIV test is free of charge and can be performed, at the request of the interested party, anonymously
- No prescription or reservation required
- All HIV test reports carried out in the different ASL sampling centres for frosinone refer to the UOSD AIDS clinic
- The result of the test is delivered directly to the interested party or by written proxy
- Foreigners, even without a residence permit, can take the test in the same way
Opening hours:
Monday to Saturday
- 8:30 – 11:00 am to take the test
- 8:30 am – 1:30 pm for medical examination
