The UOC of Neonatology of the Fabrizio Spaziani Hospital in Frosinone supports the initiative promoted by the SIN – Italian Society of Neonatology and celebrates World Prematurity Day, which is held every year on 17 November, with an Information Open Day at the Neonatology Clinic.
The meeting is open to all those who want to participate: parents of premature and full-term babies, new and expectant mothers and fathers.
Thisyear the theme of World Prematurity Day is the importance of contact and the so-called Kangaroo Care: “A parent’s embrace: a powerful therapy. Support skin-to-skin contact from the moment of birth”.
THE PROGRAMME
From 3:00 p.m. and for the entire duration of the event, an information stand will be set up and the medical and nursing staff will be at the disposal of the participants.
A photo gallery will be set up with photos taken by the parents of the young patients and the families of the newborn former patients of the UOC of Neonatology will be present to share their experience.
Practical demonstrations will be held for breastfeeding and newborn care (umbilical cord care, bathing, nasal washes, management of diaper rashes, etc.).
A training meeting on Baby Wearing and Kangaroo Care will be available for new and future mothers. Finally, on November 17 at 5:17 pm, everything will stop for a minute of hugs. In the hospital, at home, on the street, everywhere, you will stop to give and receive a hug.
