The virus continues to circulate among the population, the contagion is still very present, which is why you should not lower your guard. The reading of the numbers, if done daily, is misleading, because it is the overall data that must be looked at and that invites us to be very cautious and vigilant, to use safety devices, to follow all hygiene and health regulations and above all to conclude the vaccination cycle.
The ASL is facing the emergency with all the weapons at its disposal: it has carried out 283 monoclonal therapies, 30 oral antiviral therapies with the drug Molnupiravir and already has the new antiviral monoclonal Sotrovimab available.
Those hospitalized due to the virus are on average between 80 and 90, the intensive care unit has 12 beds occupied. Today 2 out of 3 deaths concern unvaccinated people, a testimony to how the virus, where it encounters a subject without a vaccine shield, is much more aggressive until it becomes lethal.
For this reason, the total commitment of the Health Authority is aimed at vaccinating all those groups, still unprotected, with every possible strategy.
After the proximity vaccination carried out in agreement with the Commissioner’s Office in countries with higher or more distant unvaccinated percentages from the Hubs, after the Open Day for paediatric groups, the initiative of an awareness and vaccination day for women waiting for a child or breastfeeding arrives on February 2.
The strategy implemented by the ASL is aimed at protecting the population, containing the virus to allow hospitals, clinics, doctors and nurses to return to full-time care for other diseases, consolidating and strengthening the system.
With around 100 virus carriers still hospitalized, the effort to recover waiting lists, diagnoses and interventions can be compromised.
For this reason, it is more important than ever, through the help and collaboration of everyone, to free hospitals from Covid.
