The Headache Center of the F. Spaziani Hospital included in the first mapping of the Headache Structures with female routes of Fondazione Onda

The Headache Centre of the F Spaziani ASL FR Hospital is among the 143 facilities throughout the national territory that have joined the new Onda Foundation project dedicated to the identification of hospitals that offer courses and services dedicated to the management of migraines in the different phases of a woman’s life.

The initiative, presented in Milan, was born in response to an epidemiological scenario that sees migraine recognized as a gender pathology, which mainly affects women in young adulthood, who develop more severe forms than men, manifesting higher levels of disability and a greater number of comorbidities.

There are 6 million people who suffer from migraines in Italy and of these 4 million are women.  The maximum prevalence is also reached in the fourth and fifth decades of life, therefore in the period of greater labour and social productivity.
