SIGNED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE LOCAL HEALTH COMPANY FROSINONE AND ANCE, FEDERLAZIO, CNA, CONFARTIGIANATO, UNIONE ARTIGIANI CIOCIARI,
UNION OF ITALIAN ARTISANS, FENEAL UIL, FILCA CISL, FILLEA CGIL , UGL Costruzioni, ESEF CPT Frosinone
As can unfortunately also be seen in the mass media, falls from heights continue to be one of the most frequent causes of accidents at work, with often serious consequences. The sector most affected is that of construction, during the phases of work at height on construction sites, including the cleaning of gutters or accesses for inspections and verification of the state of the roofs, and possible maintenance/replacement of the same.
To date, a significant percentage of the violations detected in supervision concern the omission or incorrect adoption of precautions in relation to protection from collective and individual falls from above;
The critical issues related to risk factors such as chemical and carcinogenic agents, biomechanical overload, alcohol and smoking, and poor knowledge of the language are also well known.
For the reasons expressed above and to strengthen the lines of action that have long been typical of the Prevention Department of the USL Frosinone Company, a memorandum of understanding has been signed with the territorial stakeholders that provides for a specific plan in the construction sector that includes, among other things, the creation, updating and dissemination of good practices and documentary/informative material, regarding the “systemic” approach to risk, in the institutional web portal of the ASL and in those of the stakeholders themselves.
The real highlight of the plan is undoubtedly represented by the carrying out of “spot training interventions” on the construction sites lasting 30 minutes by the inspection staff of the USL Company, as a training, information and awareness-raising moment for workers, by illustrating both the brochures prepared ad hoc and the vademecum on falls from above prepared at the regional level.
These interventions will be carried out at the end of each inspection inspection on 165 construction companies, identified on the basis of the risks inferred from the preliminary site notifications and will be developed over a period of 1 year on an experimental basis in view of further developments.
It is confirmation that the USL Company and the other actors involved in the project continue to believe in a 360-degree approach to prevention that is therefore seen not only in a perspective, albeit dutiful, of inspections and controls, but also in a perspective of cultural growth and awareness already constantly promoted in this Province with various awareness-raising and promotion initiatives, first of all among all the “work safety weeks” whose first edition dates back to 2007 and which is still a flattering and growing success.
