The health promotion path has begun for students and teachers in the province of Frosinone, promoted by ASL to offer young students the opportunity to acquire useful elements to pursue the “mens sana in corpore sano”.
There are a total of six projects for the 2022-2023 school year to encourage a better lifestyle for young people. Programs dedicated to teachers who will then have to transmit the knowledge to their students.
The first project to start was “Unplugged” (photos attached), a program aimed at enhancing and promoting young people’s personal skills in terms of self-esteem, self-efficacy and resilience, in order to increase their ability to manage daily challenges and foster a greater sense of personal control.
Teachers have been trained by directly experiencing what will then be put into practice in the classroom, a game to “sculpt” emotions!
Next Monday will start “Lifestyles ” Connect-Minds”, a program for students of the third and fifth grades of elementary schools, which provides 5 hours of training for teachers of the third and fifth grades. For the implementation of the program, the teachers involved must dedicate at least 10 curricular hours to classroom intervention and 2 hours to monitoring.
In November it will be the turn of “Muovinsieme”, a project that combines the practice of physical activity (walking) with the possibility of learning in a place other than the classroom (outdoor teaching), also promoting and enhancing the socialization and relational aspects and “Active Pause”, consisting of small movement breaks lasting 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes, decided by the teachers, carried out in class and adaptable to everyone’s physical abilities.
Then it will be the turn of Peer Education, an educational method according to which a small group of “peers” actively works to inform and influence other children, generally a few years younger, and “Sanochisa”, a regional program recognized to promote the adoption of correct eating styles, increased motor activity and critical reading of advertising.
All the projects are included in the Business Implementation Plan of the Prevention Plan of the Lazio Region, whose contact person of the “Network of Schools that Promote Health” of the Asl of Frosinone is Dr. Lucio Maciocia.
