“BEYOND COVID” let ‘S worry about preventing breast cancer!
In continuity with previous years, the Lazio Region renews its commitment to the fight against breast cancer, through the “Ottobre Rosa” Health Awareness, Prevention and Education Campaign. Throughout Lazio, during the months of October, November and December, until the available places are exhausted, examinations for the early diagnosis of breast cancer can be carried out.
The ASL of Frosinone, while continuing to control the spread of the epidemic, wants to go “beyond COVID” and does not neglect the other diseases that continue to affect the health of the population, therefore, as every year it adheres to the “Pink October” Campaign and the General Directorate of the ASL makes an appeal to all women who usually “think about the health and problems of everyone else,” and sometimes neglecting themselves :
“Let’s do each other good! Let’s participate in organized screening programs”
On the occasion of the campaign, the ASL of Frosinone, to be closer to women and encourage their participation, has activated, through the UOSD Screening Coordination, three additional locations, where, from October, screening mammograms will be delivered.

- F. Spaziani Hospital in Frosinone
- Ss. Trinità di Sora Hospital

The ways to participate in the initiative are as follows:
WOMEN IN THE AGE GROUP 50-74 YEARS, target OF the ordinary screening programs, will BE able TO carry out the mammogram FREE OF CHARGE, WITHOUT HAVING TO OBTAIN A MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION; TO book, they must call, from 9.30 to 13.30, the dedicated SCREENING TOLL-FREE NUMBER 800 003 422, then going on the day of the appointment set at the established Radiology.
The promotion of breast cancer prevention during the Campaign also involves WOMEN AGED 45-49 YEARS, normally EXCLUDED FROM THE SCREENING PROGRAMME. Women in this age group, as long as they have not had a mammogram in the previous two years, can book the exam by calling the DEDICATED UNIQUE NUMBER 06-164161840.
For the age group 45-49, the “October Pink” mammogram will be provided, while the available seats last, also in the Outpatient Radiologies of the Pontecorvo Health Centre, Ferentino Health Centre and in the Health Centre of Isola del Liri, where the services will be performed by the Internal Outpatient Radiology Specialists.
Therefore, preventive mammography for women between 45 and 49 years of age will be provided at:

- “F. Spaziani” Frosinone Hospital Radiology Unit
- Radiology Unit “S. Scolastica ” Hospital in Cassino
- Radiology Casa della Salute di Ferentino
- Radiology Healthcare Facility of Isola del Liri
- Radiology Health House of Pontecorvo
The woman will perform the mammogram FREE OF CHARGE, showing the PRESCRIPTION with D01 exemption; if she does not have it, the radiologist, present at the Radiology Department on the date set for the appointment, will fill out the prescription with D01 exemption code.
It should be remembered that the “Pink October” campaign represents an offer that is added to the regular breast screening program, to draw the attention of all women, and in particular those between the ages of 45 and 49, to the importance of prevention and to undergo mammography every two years.
Those who, in this age group, do not find availability during the period of the Campaign, can still perform the prevention mammogram, always free of charge every two years, by booking it at the CUP, showing the prescription of the family doctor with exemption code D03.
