With 94.5% for the ASL of Frosinone, it is the company with the best performance in terms of evaluation for the fulfillment of the vaccination obligation in school age.
Data that underline that in the schools of the provinces the coverage is practically almost total and therefore the risk of exposure to communicable diseases in the absent school population.
The vaccination obligation was introduced in 2017 with Law 119, which was necessary to counteract the reduction in vaccination coverage rates that was being witnessed in those years in Italy. The legislation provides for ten mandatory vaccinations for minors between the ages of zero and sixteen and for unaccompanied foreign minors:
- anti-polio
- anti-diphtheria
- anti-tetanus
- antihepatitis B
- anti-pertussis
- anti-Haemophilus influenzae type b
- anti-measles
- anti-rosolia
- anti-mumps
- anti-varicella.
The obligation for the last four (measles, rubella, mumps, chickenpox) is subject to review every three years based on epidemiological data and vaccination coverage achieved.
Vaccinations are also indicated as an active and free offer, by the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, but without vaccination obligation:
- anti-meningococcal B
- anti-meningococcal A, C, W,Y
- anti-pneumococcal
- anti-rotavirus.
A result, that obtained by the Frosinone ASL, the result of a meticulous work of crossing the data present in the paper registers and in the computerized Company program, and those registered in the Regional Vaccine Registry (AVR). Approximately 3400 checks carried out by health personnel.
Thanks to this, existing breaches have been identified and reported to the AVR. It is then up to the schools to see, through the Vaccination Registry, who is in breach and to warn the parents so that they can vaccinate their child.
