National Day of Safety in Schools: the event organized by the ASL of Frosinone

Protection of occupational health with particular regard to the risks inherent to the school environment“:

more than 400 participants, including teachers and safety figures from schools in the province, took part in the “National Day of Safety in Schools: updates on public and occupational health issues”, organised by the Prevention Department of the Local Health Authority of Frosinone,  included in the initiatives for the European Safety Week promoted by the EU-OSHA and also planned as part of the Prevention Business Plans.

A path, as highlighted by Dr. Rosa Ferri, coordinator of the Prevention Plans of the Local Health Authority, which continues in the wake of the close collaboration also born from the interactions between ASL and schools.

Several important and topical topics were discussed by professionals during the meeting held online:

the recent acquisitions in visual ergonomics, presented by Dr.  Rosanna Mazzarino; principles of prevention of diseases transmitted with food explained by Dr. Vincenzo Allegretti and guidelines in the organization and management aimed at the administration of drugs at school presented by Dr. Giuseppe Ruscetta.

Among the speakers, external guests invited for their particular and specific expertise in the topics covered were Prof. Giorgio Bonanno of the University of Cassino, who described the most recent acquisitions in terms of air quality and the spread of infectious particles and Dr. Antonella Marrocco, a researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health, who dealt with little-known aspects of the effects of smoking with devices such as the electronic cigarette with particular reference to the adolescent group.

“Based on this cooperation with the schools – explains Dr Patrizia Tanzilli – the topics of interest were collected and developed, with high quality reports, during the conference. The knowledge acquired by the teachers will now have to be transferred to the children with the aim of helping them improve their lifestyle, change the wrong attitudes and adopt more correct behaviours “.

The Company Health Director Dr. Luca Casertano and the head of the Prevention Department Dr. Giancarlo Pizzutelli, underlined the value of the commitment made to intensify a network of synergies aimed at achieving global health as much as possible.

A successful webinar thanks to the coordination and IT support of Alessandro Mingarelli.
