Also thisyear the AITIC (Italian Association of Histology and Cytology Technicians) Scientific Association recognized by the Ministry of Health, renewed its appointment (XXIX National Congress) with the world of Health Technicians of Biomedical Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy and the world of health professionals working in teams (biologists, pathologists and oncologists) with over 200 attendees.
The UOC of Pathological Anatomy of the ASL of Frosinone, directed by Prof. Piero Luigi Alò, in the path of continuous education in Medicine and research activity, carried out by the Medical Management and Biologists without ever forgetting the valuable contribution of the Health Technicians of the Biomedical Laboratory has participated with some of its collaborators, producing its own contribution.
The project (Poster)
The summary of the work produced is represented by the poster entitled “Evaluation of a backup system for the management of the histological sample”, included in a much broader path of risk management and mitigation concerning:
- histological Samples
- operating Room Healthcare Professionals
The objective of the work was to verify and evaluate a commercial product, to be used as a backup procedure, to preserve the surgical (histological) samples in the storage and transport phase.
The conclusions were reached following the preparation and viewing of hundreds of slides, analysed for cellular morphology and the search for molecules or structures of the intra- and extra-cellular compartment.
The effort of the UOC was rewarded with the prestigious recognition of the Scientific Commission and the GdL AITIC–Academy in collaboration with the Alessandra Bono Foundation as “Best Poster 2022”.
