This morning, with the day open to all employees as well as affiliated doctors and GPs, the summer blood donation campaign began, which aims to achieve fundamental self-sufficiency to guarantee all patients who need transfusion therapy, inpatient, outpatient or at home, to be transfused without unnecessary waiting.
A collection that is more important than ever during the summer when stocks undergo a downsizing.
On the bed of the Donation Room of the Spaziani Frosinone Hospital, as happened to the Most Holy Trinity of Sora and the Holy School of Cassino, there were managers, doctors, nurses, administrators who underwent the withdrawal by participating, with a concrete gesture of solidarity, in the donation campaign.
Among them, the General Director Dr. Angelo Aliquò: “Diseases do not go on holiday – he said after the donation – we need blood especially in summer. I leave the sampling room with a state of mind of great satisfaction, I will continue to donate in the coming months and I invite the entire population to do so. We need an even more massive response from everyone”.
The Director of the Transfusion Service of the Asl of Frosinone Dr. Carla Gargiulo renews the invitation to donate blood: “We have many patients to treat – he stressed – both acute and chronic, there is a need for the solidarity of the population. Everyone from 18 to 70 years old can donate, weighing over 50 kg and must be in good health. Before the collection, the donor is checked through a medical examination in which blood pressure values, heart rate and hemoglobin values are detected “.
Director of Pediatrics of the Holy Trinity of Sora Dr. Luigi Di Ruzza: “I donated because I consider it important, because it allows me to help people who need to be transfused. Personally, I think it is a matter of civil conscience to improve our attitude towards public health “.
Among the donors, Dr. Luciano Figliozzi, Director of the Animal Health Unit of the veterinary service: “I have received the invitation to donate, I am happy to have done so, it did not cost me anything and I want to align myself with the appeal to the population so that those who can come to donate their blood”.
