Support for disabled and elderly people who are not self-sufficient, children in difficulty, people suffering from oncological diseases, pathological addictions and mental discomfort, support for prisoners, homeless people and/or without family members, women and children in situations of violence.
This is the valuable work that the social workers of the Asl of Frosinone carry out daily in collaboration with the Health Services and with the Social Services of the territory, in order to activate an integrated support network.
It is therefore a figure of great professional importance of which we delve into the aspects with Dr. Nisia Lucchetti, Director of Social Assistance.
Dr. Lucchetti, where does the social worker work?
In the Asl of Frosinone, social workers are present: in the Health Directorates of the Hospitals of Frosinone/Alatri, Cassino and, this is the novelty, from the beginning of August also at the Holy Trinity of Sora, where a social worker will take care of the continuity of care full time. In addition, at Spaziani in Frosinone the social worker is present in 2 departments: haematology and infectious diseases where social discomfort, if present, could negatively compromise the positive outcome of treatment.
Are there currently opportunities to access pledges?
Yes, two in particular: for people with cancer or on the waiting list for transplants and for people undergoing chemotherapy who need to buy a wig. For both there are public notices that give access to a financial contribution made available by the Region.
Who is the social worker’s activity aimed at?
It is aimed at citizens residing or domiciled in the territory who are in conditions of social fragility, reduced autonomy due to reasons related to illness, age, sudden and unforeseen care needs.
The activity is free and does not require a reservation.
How can I access this service?
It can be accessed at the request of the person concerned or their representative (family member, guardian, support administrator), on the report of institutional bodies (Court, Police Headquarters, School, etc.) on the report of the Hospital, the General Practitioner or the Paediatrician.
