At the start of the “Rooming-in” in Sora, the service, born from the collaboration between the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit and the Pediatrics-Nursing Unit of the “SS. Trinità” Hospital, directed respectively by Dr. Michele Desiato and Dr. Luigi Di Ruzza, which, starting on 1 October, will allow newborns to share the same room with their mothers for the entire duration of the hospital stay.
The service, in the first weeks, will have an experimental phase, and the “Rooming -in” will be daytime (from 12:00 to 24:00), to then be extended 24 hours a day.
A date, that of October 1, not random, as it coincides with the start of World Breastfeeding Week which is celebrated around the world until October 7.
An event that in Italy is promoted by MAMI (Italian Breastfeeding Movement) that for this 30th edition proposes the slogan: “Let’s get a move on!” with the aim of strengthening the figures who have a role in the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding in all social areas.

The service promotes early “Skin to Skin” contact between mother and newborn at the time of birth and guaranteeing, for all mothers who wish, the stay of their child in their room during the hospital stay, are the first fundamental steps to guarantee the highest level of health for the “dyad”. Our commitment in this regard is and will be constant!
